Snowflakes

For the last 2 weeks it has been snowing like crazy in Rhode Island.
This is a pile of snow with all of the snow from just our driveway.
So today I made a snowflake out of paper. Here is how to make it.

Materials:
  • paper plate (or something round)
  • paper
  • scissors
  • pencil
How to make:
Place a paper plate on the paper.
Trace around the paper plate with a pencil.
Cut around where you traced with scissors and the paper should look like this:
Then fold the paper in half.
Fold it in half again.
And fold it in half one more time.
Then, use the scissors to cut anywhere on the paper while it is still folded.
If you open it up after you cut it, the paper should look like a snowflake.
Now you can hang it on your window!!!!
Happy Snow Day!

Polar Plunge

Yesterday I went to the Polar Plunge in Narragansett. A polar Plunge is when people dive into the ocean for charity on New Years Day.
As we got closer to the place were they were going in, the crowd got bigger.
Then, they all went in at once.
Even a dog went in.
After 30 seconds all of the people seemed to get out at once.
My favorite bathing suit was a guy with a lime green suit on. He stands out in this picture.
I will never go into freezing water like that!

New Year's Eve Hike

Yesterday my family and I took a hike.
We saw and did lots of fun things.
In this picture, Jack is trying to throw a snowball at a hole in a post that I was behind. He ended up only hitting the post. This is a picture of a fort Jack and his friend made two years ago. Its still there today.
We saw an evergreen tree all decorated with ornaments.
We climbed this rock. Its bigger than it looks.
This picture is from the top of the rock that we climbed.
When we were walking back, we saw a snowman about a foot tall..........
And next to it a 5 foot snowman. You can see the smaller snowman in the background.
When we were almost out of the woods we saw a beautiful sunset.
Happy New Year!
